肉夾饃是古漢語"肉夾于饃"的簡稱，陜西省漢族特色食物之一。陜西地區(qū)有使用白吉饃的"臘汁肉夾饃"、寶雞西府的肉臊子夾饃(肉臊子中放食醋)、潼關(guān)的潼關(guān)肉夾饃(與白吉饃不同，其饃外觀焦黃，條紋清晰，內(nèi)部呈層狀，餅體發(fā)脹，皮酥里嫩，火功到家，食用時溫度以燙手為佳，且老潼關(guān)肉夾饃是熱饃夾涼肉，餅酥肉香，爽而不膩)。肉夾饃是陜西小吃。

    外地人次聽說肉夾饃，都認為是病句，這是與古漢語有關(guān)，肉夾饃，其實是"肉夾于饃"。"肉"字放在前面起到強調(diào)的作用，引人垂涎。
